Higher Film Certificates

For my film i wll have to use either a 15 or and 18 film certificate, this is because my film will not be suitable for kids under the age of fifteen due to the genre type and what will be in the film. Most horro and thriller films have scary. gorey sceenes this is why they will have a high certificate as they are not suitable for young children to see as it can effect them and scare them.  Using a higher rating will attract an teenage+ audiance this is a large audiance, mostly teenagers go to the cinema with there friends this will then make a good profit on the film.

Thriller Poster Analysis

I have chosen to analyse a thriller poster as i am thinking of making a poster for my own film, when it comes to advertising your genre a facial expression is very important as it shows what may go on in your film. In my poster is don't want to show to much facial expression as i want my film to be more mysterious and by not shwoing the character to much it dosen't let you in to to much information. In this poster the title is quite obvious this can be eye catching, im not sure in my poster i will use a big title as im going along with the mysterious approach.

These are a few names that i have come up with, it is important that the name fits to the genre of my film being a thriller so i have made sure that the names i have come up with are suitable and go well with not only my film but setting and characters.

Research into Warner Bros

The r5eason i may use this company is because they are a very popular brand name in the filming industry, by this the film will be well known and advertised making a big profit when it comes out in cinemas.

Teaser poster

This is a poster i have made, showing the quote that i hope to layer over the backing audio that i have not yet chosen, it think that this will suite my trailer and the location and the context is similar to the meaning of my film, im going to make a trailer teaser that will not be how my final is going to be, my final trailer will be different to my teaser trailer, it is just to give an insight into in to my film.

Testing Audio

Testing the audio of what is going to be in my film, im thinking of overlaying the music with a quote it will create a tense feeling, obviously this depends on the quote i use. Im thinking of using

'it's like you're screaming and no one can hear. you almost feel ashamed that someone could be that important that without them, you feel like nothing. no one will ever understand how much it hurts. you feel hopeless, like nothing can save you. and when it's over and it's gone, you almost wish that you could have all that bad stuff back so that you could have the good.'

 This is a quote that i have previously used in my own videos and by using a thriller type backing audio i think that it will work really well and crate a tension build, this will keep the audience focused and interested throughout the trailer.

Setting Analysis

Ideas deeper into location

I think that i will first film Carlene in the field behind this bridge and then i will introduce her on the bride walking Rosie over it this will be perfect as i have the background that is quite by this making the foreground more of a focus and an interest towards the audience.

I may even film from this angle as to the right the path/ road i can film Carlene walking of down it, she will be walking away from us so i can use fade out to black as this will keep the audience focused on the film and create a tension build but also keeping it suttle as it will be at the start of the film and i don't want to jump straight in as it will be too much too soon.

Setting and Location

Above are pictures that video footage will be shot, this location is very close to my stables and the fields are where my horse goes out in during the day, im able to take footage of Carlene riding around these fields and walking over the bridge.
If the weather is similar to what it is like in the pictures it would be perfect for my genre Thriller as is if  foggy and misty, i will be able to work really well with this when it comes to filming.
Im going to get some footage without Carlene or Rosie, just to familiarise with the setting and how to shoot it better.

Video idea settings.

I have been making a few short videos with my own footage/material as the more i have the more variety i have to choose from, and i can also test some effects to fit to my film, i will continue to make short videos as i then have  inspiration from previous clips to then try and video some footage that is similar to the original.

The woman in black - Thriller Genre

This is The woman in black, a thriller genre film. I have had a look at this as it will help me with ideas for my film, the use of effects for example the slowmotion, fade in from black creating a tense feeling could be somthing that i use in my film.

Carlene will be the main actor throughout my film, she will be fist shot and introduced, will be in the horse riding footage and will be found dead outside a stable with her steed stood along side her.
I have chosen Carlene as she is capable of making a scene look dramatized and this is what i want, she studied drama as a gcse so is capable of acting to a good level.

Short overview of script

Short clips of the character i have chosen introducing them and the location.

A few clips of cantering/galloping around the vine yard, variation of camera angle shots.

Arrive at yard to find the character dead outside the stable with horse next to them.

Testing Effects

Film Plan

I have chosen thriller as my genre as i have a location planned to suit this genre, my location is my local stables as in my film i will be using some of the horses as well as their owners as i can work well with them creating interesting action scenes for examples horses galloping of with their riders in the woods.

These are some raw clip of me riding my horse at a mock hunt, a country location in this footage would not be constantly used throughout my film, and this gives an insight in to what material could work with when it comes to editing my footage to fit it to the genre Thriller.
