Thriller Poster Analysis
I have chosen to analyse a thriller poster as i am thinking of making a poster for my own film, when it comes to advertising your genre a facial expression is very important as it shows what may go on in your film. In my poster is don't want to show to much facial expression as i want my film to be more mysterious and by not shwoing the character to much it dosen't let you in to to much information. In this poster the title is quite obvious this can be eye catching, im not sure in my poster i will use a big title as im going along with the mysterious approach.

Research into Warner Bros
Warner Bros. Entertainment, Inc., also known as Warner Bros. Pictures or simply Warner Bros. (though the name was occasionally given in full form as Warner Brothers during the company's early years), is an American producer of film and television entertainment.
One of the major film studios, it is a subsidiary of Time Warner, with its headquarters in Burbank, California and New York, New York. Warner Bros. has several subsidiary companies, including Warner Bros. Studios, Warner Bros. Pictures, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Warner Bros. Television, Warner Bros. Animation, Warner Home Video, New Line Cinema, TheWB.com, and DC Comics.
The r5eason i may use this company is because they are a very popular brand name in the filming industry, by this the film will be well known and advertised making a big profit when it comes out in cinemas.

Teaser poster
This is a poster i have made, showing the quote that i hope to layer over the backing audio that i have not yet chosen, it think that this will suite my trailer and the location and the context is similar to the meaning of my film, im going to make a trailer teaser that will not be how my final is going to be, my final trailer will be different to my teaser trailer, it is just to give an insight into in to my film.
Testing Audio
Testing the audio of what is going to be in my film, im thinking of overlaying the music with a quote it will create a tense feeling, obviously this depends on the quote i use. Im thinking of using
'it's like you're screaming and no one can hear. you almost feel ashamed that someone could be that important that without them, you feel like nothing. no one will ever understand how much it hurts. you feel hopeless, like nothing can save you. and when it's over and it's gone, you almost wish that you could have all that bad stuff back so that you could have the good.'
This is a quote that i have previously used in my own videos and by using a thriller type backing audio i think that it will work really well and crate a tension build, this will keep the audience focused and interested throughout the trailer.

Ideas deeper into location
I think that i will first film Carlene in the field behind this bridge and then i will introduce her on the bride walking Rosie over it this will be perfect as i have the background that is quite by this making the foreground more of a focus and an interest towards the audience.
I may even film from this angle as to the right the path/ road i can film Carlene walking of down it, she will be walking away from us so i can use fade out to black as this will keep the audience focused on the film and create a tension build but also keeping it suttle as it will be at the start of the film and i don't want to jump straight in as it will be too much too soon.
Setting and Location
Above are pictures that video footage will be shot, this location is very close to my stables and the fields are where my horse goes out in during the day, im able to take footage of Carlene riding around these fields and walking over the bridge.
If the weather is similar to what it is like in the pictures it would be perfect for my genre Thriller as is if foggy and misty, i will be able to work really well with this when it comes to filming.
Im going to get some footage without Carlene or Rosie, just to familiarise with the setting and how to shoot it better.
Video idea settings.
I have been making a few short videos with my own footage/material as the more i have the more variety i have to choose from, and i can also test some effects to fit to my film, i will continue to make short videos as i then have inspiration from previous clips to then try and video some footage that is similar to the original.

Character two - Rosie

Rosie
Ten
Welsh Section D
Rosie, being my horse will be used as the horse in the riding scenes, i will be able to make some dramatic scenes of her galloping of ect.
Character one - Carlene Garrett

Carlene Garrett
Sixteen
Student at Therifeld School
Pachesham Equestrian Centre employee
Carlene will be the main actor throughout my film, she will be fist shot and introduced, will be in the horse riding footage and will be found dead outside a stable with her steed stood along side her.
I have chosen Carlene as she is capable of making a scene look dramatized and this is what i want, she studied drama as a gcse so is capable of acting to a good level.
Short overview of script
Short clips of the character i have chosen introducing them and the location.
A few clips of cantering/galloping around the vine yard, variation of camera angle shots.
Arrive at yard to find the character dead outside the stable with horse next to them.
Testing Effects
Testing effects to use in my film, giving me a better idea what effects to use that willf it to the genre, i don't want the film looking to horor like.

Film Plan
I have chosen thriller as my genre as i have a location planned to suit this genre, my location is my local stables as in my film i will be using some of the horses as well as their owners as i can work well with them creating interesting action scenes for examples horses galloping of with their riders in the woods.
These are some raw clip of me riding my horse at a mock hunt, a country location in this footage would not be constantly used throughout my film, and this gives an insight in to what material could work with when it comes to editing my footage to fit it to the genre Thriller.

Action Cliches
Action cliches always contain a vast amount of fast quick scenes as by this the genre is aimed at middle ages males as the action scenes don't tend to be of girls interests. Tending to be in an urban location as it is the perfect setting for all the content of what goes on in an action film.
For example 'District 9' from watching the opening 2 minutes you are abel to see the genre in action as the setting is what i'd call animated and game like, the use of efects make it quick by using the fade in and out of black but keeping on the same scene this keeps you focosed on the film and interested.

Crime cliches
In crime the clichés involved are a car chase this is used to build tension as it is a fast moving scenes, the cop wanting to solve the problem by this on most of the chase sceenes after the convict. Sometimes there is the wife who is oblivious to what her partner is doing although sometimes is hiding the truth. Fast chase scenes and urban locations perfect for crime locations.
For example 'The girl with the dragon tattoo' this being a good example although the location/ setting aren't always urban it also shows that it dosen't have to be an urban location to involve crime. The zoom shots make you feel as if you are getting deeper into the film by this making you focused from the very start so you get in every detail. The car chases and quick view of the police car again resembles that it is crime related as well as the season being winter makes it a cold and anticipating film.

180° Rule
In Filmmaking the 180° rule is a basic guide that two characters or more in the same scene should always have the same left/right relationship to each other. If the camera goes over the imaginary line joining the two subjects, it is called crossing the line. The new shot, from the opposite side, is called a reverse angle.

Horror Cliches
Sometimes stars the blonde pretty girl who is first to die, lonely situations where the car happens to break down in a dark open place where no one is arround often ending with them being drawn to a mysterious house. Scary locations woods, houses dark places etc. Tence moments, climax and anti climax and children tend to be evil.
Romance Cliches
The genre Romance tends to have a happy ending, there are normally love rivals and by this there are normally confrontations thats ends up with the obvious choice. Will the wont they moments that create a tension build leaving you in suspence. Dramatic ironie, knowing he is the worng person and able to see why, a pushy mother and subordinate father. Mr right initially finds her annoying but this soon changes as he falls for her charm. A faithfull yet often hopeless side kick tending to be a loyal friend that although a loyal often useless help. Montage, a collection of clips with music over the top often used as you see the the personalitys of the charachters.

Seabiscuit, picture analysis.
Picture from 'Seabiscuit' a drama, sport and historical related film. This pictures shows the film clearly involves a horse, so it is equestrain related, the setting in this picture is on a sand track with people behind rails this suggest that it is at a race track this then suggest it may be about 'horse racing'. The brown, cream and beige colours give a warmth feeling aswell as the mood this pictures gives of a feeling of a bond between the man and the horse.
Seabiscuit Trailer, quick analysis.
Seabiscuit,by watching the opening two minutes your able to see the genre is drama/sport and history related, you able to see thats its drama by looking at exspressions and tension build in the backing music, sport due to it being 'horse racing' and historical as it shows dated/sepia clips. The film is about a racehorse that no one had faith in but he proved them wrong as the film revolves arround the horse it must also revolve arround his jocky as you also find out about him.
